Buttons Up!

A month late blog post! Hee *sorry~*

Anyhoo~ This shoot was done in collaboration with Fabulously and Absolutely Rural Made or what they also call as F.A.R.M.!

F.A.R.M is a social enterprise that makes use of discarded buttons and fabrics to create unique and innovative products.

The Ateneans who work with F.A.R.M. at Ateneo challenged us to put up an outfit that would incorporate their products. Wasn't a really hard task for me because their items are known for playful colors and cute designs!

So with my outfit, I decided to play with colors too! Mustard, green and pink! What do you think? ;)

So here are the F.A.R.M products that I wore! Matching color with my outfit bracelet and a pouch with a cutie voodoo doll-like keychain attached to it. Doesn't everything looks so unique and fab? and I've also heard that each and every piece are made uniquely, no item is made with the same design. So if you'd buy one, you'll be rest assured that you're the only one who has that design! Awesome, right? ;)

F.A.R.M's owner, Ms. Bidibidi, is a passionate artist and a social advocate especially in Baao, where she gathers hardworking and creative youth who cannot afford to go to school to help her create products in turn for a scholarship.

The F.A.R.M products are not only beautiful and trendy but is also coupled with a deeper value. It comes with the story of how Ms. Bidibidi has helped the students and people of Baao, and the environment as well. These stories travelled throughout the country and has reached the community of Ateneo de Naga, where her products are bought and her story appreciated.

Bicol Fashion Week Wave 2

OMG! There’s a Bicol Fashion Week fast approaching again!! *u*

The BFW will have its second wave this September 5 to 9, 2013! This is going to be a five day event, held at several key locations in both Naga and Legazpi city! There will be fashion bazarre, fashion party(!), inauguration of the newly established Association of Bicolano Models (ABM), and fashion shows showcasing different designers of Bicoladia, and of course, four of the best designers in Manila, which shall be the biggest mystery of the event!

Want a clue? Hmm.. ‘Cause I'm gonna be spoiling to you guys ALL of the four major designers in the Bicol Fashion Week Wave 2!

Such big names in the fashion industry! Most (or all) of them, I think, are Bicolanos! Making me feel proud to be a Bicolano! If you haven't heard of them yet, my co-Bicol bloggers wrote about them in their blogs to make you guys more excited for the Bicol Fashion Week Wave 2! They're really worth knowing. Swear, their talent is admirable. They're someone to be proud of, especially for us Bicolanos and even for all Filipinos, because they're also known nationally and internationally!

Everything For The Techie: Fashion Bloggers Runway

My biggest exposure as a blogger so far!! OMG~ Can you imagine me walking the runway with my height and awkward walk? Can’t believe I was able to walk the runway again after the Modeling 101. I thought that was my last! But thanks to this event, I was able to experience the runway again!!

Last Sunday, August 23, 2013, ten of the Bicol Fashion Bloggers were invited by the SM City Naga for an event for the techies! And I was lucky enough to lead these bloggers for this event. I never thought that opportunities would finally come to us, after a year of organizing and uniting a group of fashion bloggers here in Bicol.

Can’t hide my happiness! Haha. I was giggling here because I was shocked that my family is seated right in front of the runway! I just couldn't help myself. Haha. My mom is the one holding an iPad capturing me on the bottom left of the photo above. Support! Hihi. I’m really thankful that they were able to come and support me. They don’t usually support me with my blogging, because they kinda still don’t understand what I am doing. Mehehe~

As techies ourselves, we were given a chance by SM City Naga, with their sponsors, Comworks, Samsung, Alcatel, Starmobile and Smart to model gadgets! Before the event, we were given handsets to experience and tell what we love about the gadgets in the show.

The first gadget for me was a Samsung tablet, but I was able to talk about my second gadget during the event, the Nokia Lumia 900 from Smart. What I love about this Windows Phone 7.8 handset, aside from its number of cool features, is its 8 megapixel autofocus camera with dual LED flash camera that takes really clear photos, because you guys know that I'm really into taking photos. Next is its very classy look and its 4.3" AMOLED display that really looks good. And because I am a blogger, I really use my phone a lot, to update my followers, contact persons, etc. That's why I am thankful for the Nokia Lumia 900, because it has a long battery which will enable you to enjoy your phone all throughout the day!

And here’s what I wore during the event! Our theme for the Fashion Bloggers Runway was pink and blue! We just had our outfit shoot inside the mall because we don’t have anywhere to go. Hihi. Would you believe I am wearing head-to-toe thrifted here? *wink*

We're very thankful for all the people who made this all happen, especially to SM City Naga, Smart and Comworks! It was honestly a cloud 9 experience for us Bicol Fashion Bloggers, and I hope more opportunities would come to us after this big break! *u*
